The first post-graduate degree course with specialisation in Combustion engineering and Fuel Economy was started in 1952 under the leadership of Professor Weissweller. At present, the department is deeply involved in activities in the field of Pollution Control, Transport Processes, Coal and Petroleum Technology, and Membrane Processes.
