Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of wireless nodes that can
dynamically self-organize into an arbitrary and temporary topology to form a network
without necessarily using any pre-existing infrastructure. The characteristics of MANETs
make them well suited for several applications such as military services, disaster
management, and networks for interaction among students in a class room.
