This Thesis Consist Two Separate Parts. In Part 1, Global Positioning System Described With Receiver Design And Software GPS Receiver Has Been Developed Using MATLABTM And SIMULINKTM . In Part 2 Various Types Of Anti-Jamming Situation Taken Into Consideration For A Standard GPS Receiver. Adaptive Array Antenna Has Been Discussed In Detail With Various Conventional Beam Forming Algorithm And Adaptive Nulling Techniques To Counter Intentional And Unintentional Jamming. In Chapter 5 Of Part 2 A Novel Architecture Of Smart Antenna (Adaptive Array Antenna) Has Been Proposed With Adaptive Equalizer As A Post Processor And Matched Filter As A Pre-Processor. In Chapter 6 An Experimental And New Type Of DOA Estimation Algorithm Is Developed With Another Very Low Side Lobe Level Generation Beam Forming Algorithm To Collect Multipath And Used Along With Standard LMS Algorithm To Create Null In The Radiation Pattern Towards Unknown Jammer Direction.
