Design And Analysis Of Microwave Antennas And Passive Components For Wireless Communication.: .Antennas Are One Of The Essential Components In The Wireless Communication Systems. Moreover, Small Sized Wideband And Ultra-Wideband (Uwb) Bandpass Filters (Bpf) With Good In-Band As Well As Out-Of-Band Performances Are Highly Desirable For The Modern Wideband And Ultra-Wideband Communication Systems. Hybrid Couplers Are Also Widely Used In Microwave Circuits To Divide Or Combine Signals With Proper Phases. Designs Of Antennas And Miniaturized Passive Components With Improved Performances And Diverse Specifications Required For The Numerous Applications Currently In Use Are A Huge Challenge. In The Thesis, Three Waveguide Slot Array Antennas Having Different Radiation Characteristics Are Developed. Six Designs Of Small Sized, High Performance, Planar Filters And Two Designs Of Compact Planar Hybrid Couplers With Wideband Harmonics Suppression Are Presented. Rectangular Waveguide Broad Wall Longitudinal Slots Have Been Used To Design The Array Antennas. In The First Example, A Linear Array Antenna Having Low Side Lobe Level Is Presented. Slot Doublets Are Incorporated To Design Array Antennas In The Second And Third Examples. Slot Doublets Can Be Of Two Types: Omnidirectional And Null Producing, Depending Upon The Orientations Of The Longitudinal Slots With Respect To The Waveguide Center Line. In The Second Example, The Design Of An Omnidirectional Linear Array Antenna Has Been Presented. In The Third Example, Null Producing Doublets, Which Have Been Presented For The First Time, Have Been Used To Design A Linear Array Antenna Having Two Radiation Nulls In Specified Directions And Otherwise Omnidrectional Radiation Pattern. The Galerkin Specialization Of Method Of Moments (Mom) With Sinusoidal Basis Functions Has Been Used To Analyze The Slotted Waveguide Structures. A Compact Realization Of A Planar Composite Right-Hand/Left-Hand (Crlh) Transmission Line By Using Complementary Split Ring Resonators (Csrr) Is Presented For The First Time. Design Procedures Of Small Sized Highpass Filters, Bpfs With Wide Controllable Fractional Bandwidths And An Uwb Bpf Have Been Developed By Using The Crlh Transmission Line. The Sub-Lambda Dimensions Of Csrrs Have Been Exploited To Reduce The Implementing Areas Of The Filters. It Has Been Shown That The External Coupling Between A Microstrip Feed Line And A Slot Line Resonator (Slr) Can Be Made Frequency Dispersive By Modifying The Microstrip Feed Line. By Using The Modified Feed Lines, Two Compact Bpfs And One Uwb Bpf With Good In-Band
