Decoupled Compensation of MIMO Plants
Ghosh, Arun
It is a fact that the methods available in literature for compensation of MIMO
plants are generally more complex, conceptually as well as computationally, than
those for SISO plants. This thesis attempts to compensate a MIMO plant by ¯rst
decoupling it into SISO constituents and then applying SISO methods. A review
shows the inadequacy of such attempts made earlier to be lying in not being able
to ¯nd easily the minimal decoupled form for a given plant. For a general plant
this thesis ¯rst obtains the complete set of decoupled forms in a simple fashion
and also identi¯es the minimal one.
